Before we go anything further, I shall say, this is a feast. THIS IS A FEAST!!!
Yes, this is a feast, this dish alone is a FEAST! It’s 1 of the most awesome dish I ever had, superb dish!
Teaser picture of the feast…….and look at the egg…..oh mai oh mai….droooolllzzzzzzz
Ok, cut the crap of the feast, I will show you guys later what I mean.
If any of you were to google “thai restaurant butterworth”, you will be bombarded by “Khuntai Thai Restaurant”. It just show’s how famous this restaurant is in Butterworth, as if want find Thai food in Butterworth? Khuntai is the way to go.
Khuntai is a big restaurant, which they had many private rooms for their customer to choose from.
Tom Yam Fish @ RM 18 is our first dish. The Tom Yam taste exactly how it should taste, spicy, sour, and appetizing! Really good to go with rice! 7.5/10
Next up? Fried egg @ RM 8, as in really normal fried egg. To me it seems the chef is really trying to fried an egg only, and didn’t put any effort to make it taste nice. Best part is in the receipt they dare to state this dish as “signature egg”……. Sigh. 5.0/10
Kerabu mango and chicken feet @ RM 15, turns out to be quite ok. How I wish it can be more spicy to give this dish more kick! 6.8/10
AND NOW, I present you, the FEAST!!!! All of us were shocked when we saw this! Not only the plate was huge, but look at the stuff inside! It’s amazing!
This is 1 of their signature dish, and the waiter introduce it as “shi da tian wang” aka the 4 kings, steamed in Lemon Thai style!
This dish is just amazing, and hence I call it a FEAST! It got clams, really fresh and tasty clams!
Squid, again, fresh and loaded! Yummmmmyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.
And finally Udang Galah (fresh water prawns, huge one) and huge mantis. All the 4 Udang Galah are loaded with eggs, which is extremely tasty, and will makes 1 orgasm. The same goes to the mantis (hidden from the picture) which are huge in size, but the meat is very very fresh, sweet and tasty!
Due to all the kings of seafood used, the soup taste superb! Very sweet and awesomely heavenly tasty! Besides, the sourness and spiciness of the soup just makes you want to drink the soup again and again, even though you are already god damned full!
A must TRY!!!!!!!!
However, 1 must beware of the hefty price tag it came. When the waiter introduce us, we ask, how much it cost? He say’s he can’t tell cause they need to weigh it first. So we ask him to go ahead. However, when the dish came, and when I saw the price tag of the Udang Galah is RM13 for 100g, I knew this dish is gonna be very expansive.
Yes, it cost me RM 151.80 for that dish alone. However, to me, it’s really really worth it.
It was however Mother’s day on the day I visit it, and hence the crowd is just scary. We arrive at around 6 PM, and the shop is already almost full. Those who arrive late and did not reserve a table, will just have to stand and wait like what most people are doing when we left. Scary and lucky for me!
