Daorae Korean BBQ Restaurant @ Penang

Daorae Korean BBQ Restaurant is 1 of my favorite restaurant to go whenever I had the cravings for Korean food (and also BBQ stuff), simply because the quality of food here is usually higher than those normal Korean restaurant.

In Daorae, besides those normal sitting area, they usually have a dining area with tatami style, and obviously you will need to take off your shoe before entering the area. Notice the white long exhaust chute on top of each table? It can be pull down to be as close as possible to the BBQ area to suck out all the smoke from it.

Like most authentic Korean restaurant, our table is invariably laid with a sumptuous array of panchan. They are given complimentary for every table if you order their BBQ dishes. Most of them taste nice, and you can always ask for free refilling. I especially love their salad.

Daorae is 1 of the few restaurants that served fine authentic Korean food in Penang. Although the price might be a bit steep, but it’s definitely a great place to come whenever you got the Korean food cravings in you, or even just BBQ cravings!

Parking space in front of the restaurant might be limited though.

  1. Good if they help you out in grilling the food. Since there’s not much fun grilling own food and risk getting all foggy-eyed and greased anyway. 🙂

  2. Aware & Remember!!

If you wanna try the nice korean food in Daorae which located in Penang Tanjung Tokong, and you found that there is too clowded and had no parking lot to park your car. Please take note that, never and ever park your car to the food court parking lot beside the petronas. The food court name is Tanjung tokong food court (丹绒美食中心). You will be shock that they have a banner warning you if u not their customer, don’t ever park your car to their private parking lot. They will lock your car is you are not their customer. You need to pay for RM 50 to unlocked your car if you really become the victim for that. They never give you discount, RM 50 for one car. Don’t have the naive minded that the food court so cloweded and they will not notice that you are not the customer, because they have hire many foreigner as the spy.

Please boycott the food court and never park to their parking lot to let them suck your money!!!
