Chicken Hot Pot @ SS2 Mall, Petaling Jaya

One of my dear friend love to eat, and the place he recommend is usually good, hence I trusted him very much whenever he recommend me a place.

With high expectation, I am here, at SS2 mall, waiting to eat the food he always put on his mouth – Chicken Hot Pot.

It’s actually a franchise from China. Someone bring it in to Malaysia, and I heard that it’s a hit when they open their 1st shop in Kuchai Lama. Ever since, few more branch had opened and one of them is in SS2 Mall.

The design of the shop is pretty simple, full with wallpaper of the brand’s history, and name of dishes. There are only few 5 dishes to order here, chicken, prawns, pork, beef and fish. You can opt for mild spicy, normal spicy or extra spicy for each of the dish.

Super Kitchen Chili Pan Mee @ Kuala Lumpur

I am not a fan of Pan Mee in the past, especially the soup based one. Reasons is usually the soup taste is not to my liking, and the noodle is too hard.

However, once forced to have Chili Pan Mee, which is the dried version 3 years back at a place I forgotten, neither did I remember the shop name. I only remember that it’s quite good, and the shop is full of people. Ever since, I started to eat Pan Mee, but only the dried version, and MUST be spicy.

Then only after some time, I only know that Chili Pan Mee is one of the most famous food in Kuala Lumpur, with 2 of the most famous one are Kin Kin Chili Pan Mee and Super Kitchen Chili Pan Mee.

I chose Super Kitchen Chili Pan Mee due to I had read way too many bad reviews in terms of service by Kin Kin Chili Pan Mee. Only when I am here, I only noticed that their fierce and infamous rival – Kin Kin Chili Pan Mee are just opposite of them.

As always, my timing for hunting food is usually perfect. Both Kin Kin Chili Pan Mee and Super Kitchen Chili Pan Mee are super empty when I am here, around 10AM ++. Kin Kin Chili Pan Mee got 1 customer while Super Kitchen Chili Pan Mee got 0 customers.

I can fully understand that someone who are working in Kuala Lumpur who has fixed lunch hour to dine here and join the crowd, but I absolutely don’t understand those who have flexible lunch hour, why must you come during their peak period, and then only complain about slow and bad service? 😀

Le’ Meridien @ Kuala Lumpur

It’s my friend’s wedding, hence here am I again at Kuala Lumpur, my lovely town, besides the jam.

This time, again using my vouchers, my choice of stay is Le’ Meridien Kuala Lumpur. It’s located at KL sentral, and used to be 1 of the best place to stay in Kuala Lumpur since it’s the hub of public transport, and amazing view around the metropolis. In such a short distance, you can get access to LRT and KTM which brings you to most part of Kuala Lumpur. By walking a little bit more, you can get access to Monorail which brings you to the centre of Kuala Lumpur including the golden triangle.

HOWEVER, due to the ABSOLUTELY STUPID USELESS town planning, they decided to build a HUGE STUPID CIMB building right in the middle of KL sentral and the monorail station.

Now, because of this STUPID building being built, it easily triples the walking distance from the hotel to the Monorail station, which mean now it cost more (either time or money if you decide to take a cab instead) to reach shopping heaven Bukit Bintang! Besides, it totally block the perfect view from the hotel rooms!

You build a transportation hub and now you destroy it????? How can you be so STUPID?!

End of rant……

Checking in is fast, although the air conditioner at the lobby seems faulty at that point as I actually sweat a bit when I was there. And unlike at Sheraton Imperial, the parking only cost RM5 per day with unlimited entries and exits.

The room is smaller than expected, and on a serious note, seriously (again) do you think this is a 5 star hotel if I din’t told you?

Oh ya, my room face directly to that STUPID building, luckily I couldn’t hear a damned sound from the construction of it.

The bed is just okay, but I am missing my heavenly bed already…….

Kaffa Kafe @ Straits Quay Penang

Straits Quay is a project by the Eastern & Oriental Berhad, it’s also Penang first and only retail marina up to date. Many had also told me, how beautiful it is, and how wonderful and different from other malls.

HOWEVER, NONE tell me that Straits Quay is a ghost shopping complex in the noon time, even in the weekend! The mall is still empty with retail stores, however, it’s totally a different case with restaurants.

I absolutely no idea which to dine in, since most of them are new to me. In the end, Kaffa Kafe is my choice. Reasons? iPad available!!!!

There are 6 iPad in the restaurant, available for customers who dine here. They also have their menu inside the iPad. However, games are limited since almost all of the games are demo version, but with free wifi available, hell yea!

For an appetizer, ours is quite a heavy one, Grilled Beef Bites @ RM13.90. Well, the beef itself is juicy and not hard, BUT no matter how hard I try, I just unable to bite it into smaller pieces lol. Hence….. 1.5/10
