Jalan Sg. Pinang Honda Showroom Hawker @ Penang

Jalan Sungai Pinang is a street full with car’s showroom. Here, you can find Cheverlot, Volvo, Honda, Mazda, Proton and a few more.

I rarely pass by this street in the morning, unless I am bringing my car for service, and every time I pass by this street, I will be curious, what is so famous here that it’s so crowded?

Choices are not exactly that much, well since it’s just a few hawker store, I opt for the Herbal Duck Mee Shua @ RM5, and mang, it’s amazing.

I usually won’t order herbal duck noodle as my choice of food, as to me, most of the soup is basically tasteless, and only the duck itself is nice. But, this, the soup is absolutely rich in flavor, and the mee shua texture is superb too! I basically bottoms up the whole bowl of soup! 8.4/10

Sun Fa Ji @ Bangsar

Since I had absolutely no idea what’s good in Bangsar, and since I only had the no.11 bus (my leg la) as my sole transport, I still take my chances and search for the famed Anuar’s Curry Fish Head at Lucky Garden, Bangsar. However, after walking for like 30 good minutes, I is shatbrix as I was told they only serve curry fish head at lunch time, while it’s only 10 AM at that time! Sigh….

With hunger and tiredness conquering me, I had no choice and simply enter 1 shop that looks good to me. I had no confidence and are seriously expecting bad food. This is because according to my 5 years stay in Kuala Lumpur/Selangor, most of the time if I were to simply enter a shop for food here, 99% of the time it turn out sucks! No, I am not saying food at Kuala Lumpur sucks, there do have many good food here, it’s just that the average restaurant here serve bad food. Haizz….

Sun Fa Ji @ Bangsar-4

Anyway, the food here at Sun Fa Ji, Bangsar is really not bad. I tried to stop LY when she wanted to try the curry mee, all because I had too much bad experience on bad curry mee here. However, the curry mee turns out to be quite nice! At RM5.50, loads of ingredients were given and even coagulated pork blood, nice! The soup is quite good too, yea of course you can’t compare it to the best one in Penang, but it’s certainly 1 of the best I had tried at central Malaysia! 7.0/10

Tuai Pui Curry Mee @ Penang

Tua Pui Curry Mee, located just by the road side of Pengkalan Weld in Penang, serve good curry mee. Their curry mee is special as you can “kah liu”, add in extra stuff as you want, of course by paying more.

As you can see, it’s just a small stall, and have a few tables behind it only. It’s not exactly super famous in Penang, as many people seems don’t know about this place yet. However, do notice the bowl on the left side of the stall, those are curry prawns, curry squid, curry chicken that you can add into your mee. Just wonderful.

Although you can sit just behind the stall, and although the tables are under a big tree, but it’s just too hot for us. So we decide to sit in house, well, as in inside the house of the stall owner. It’s really much much cooler, and also give you an idea of how those old style house look like.

Lorong Seratus Tahun Curry Mee @ Penang

This shop serves one of the best curry mee in Penang. It’s been selling since my parents were young, and it’s so famous until most people (include me) don’t know the actual name of the coffee shop or the stall, but only know the street it’s at, which is….

Although the building is old, but it’s well maintain. The whole place only sell curry mee. Oh, they do have a stall selling “loh bak”, but I don’t recommend you to try it at all. The “loh bak” is way below average for Penang standard, and the chili sauce always give a taste that it’s spoil already.
