Nasi Kandar Md. Ibrahim @ Alor Setar

A day before I am off to China for a week, I know I will surely miss curry when I am there, hence the urge to have a good place of awesome Nasi Kandar before I depart from Malaysia is a must.

Hence, I travel all the way down to Alor Setar to the best Nasi Kandar I had tried up till today, Nasi Kandar Md. Ibrahim.

This is truly a 1Malaysia stall, unlike the BS you heard and read in newspaper everyday.

This small coffee shop are run by Chinese in a traditional Chinese Coffee shop setting, while the Nasi Kandar stall are run by Indian Muslims, or better known as Mamak. You can always find all races dining here happily, proved that we Malaysians, although we do have our different believes and culture, we can live together in a harmonious way.

We don’t need all those marketing campaign and 1Malaysia logo all around to tell us what 1Malaysia are, all the time we are already able to do so.

Nasi Kandar Tomato @ Langkawi

Most of the sea activities at Langkawi, which include the Island Hoping, Mangrove tour and Pulau Payar starts at 9AM. Hence, since we are staying at Kuah, we have to wake up early to reach the met up point by 9AM.

Hence, LY woke up at around 6.15AM, while me? I can’t get a good sleep, maybe too excited? I am awake since 3AM++ and playing games in the room LOL.

Anyway, we checked out our hotel at 7.15AM, arriving Cenang beach at 7.45AM or so, only to noticed that most shop, even those that are selling breakfast are still closed! I decided to wait until 8AM and see what happens, only noticed that most of them are still closed…….

Hence, instead of buying packets of Nasi Lemak by the road side, without much choice, we head to Nasi Kandar Tomato for our breakfast.

Although it’s early, but several dishes are already ready. Too bad, it doesn’t taste good. 4.5/10

Line Clear Nasi Kandar @ Penang

Nasi Kandar, one of the most famous food in Malaysia. However, it seems that not many people know that Nasi Kandar originates from Penang, and Penang served some of the best, if not the best Nasi Kandar in Malaysia. This is the fact that many of my friends that came from other places of Malaysia, when they come to Penang, and wanted to bring them eat Nasi Kandar, they will give me this shocking or confuse look of “What? come to Penang ask me eat Nasi Kandar???? I want Char koay teow, Curry Mee, Prawn Mee, Laksa!”

Anyway, if talk about famous Nasi Kandar stall in Penang, Nasi Kandar Line Clear definitely come into most Penangtie mind. No! It’s not Nasmir or Kayu. I wouldn’t say those are very bad, but if compare of purity and awesomeness, they are no way close to Line Clear.

Man, just look at the queue! The queue almost reach the main road already.

And yes, Nasi Kandar Line Clear is located at an alley (or lorong kia), so if hygiene of an eating place is a huge problem for you, then this is not your place. To me, as long as the food served is nice, I won’t care for the environment, heck I won’t purposely go and see how dirty it is, or else I just won’t be able to enjoy my food already.

However, the choice of dish available here may be lesser than some other Nasi Kandar, but when it came to food, it’s all about quality, not quantity.
