Kings de Nathan Hotel @ Hong Kong

Although that I don’t enjoy most food in Hong Kong, there is 1 food that made me loved it so much that I am so gonna stay at Hong Kong for 1 day just to eat it again.

Yes, that’s the super awesome rated 10.0/10 Temple’s street Cow’s Intestine Stew (庙街牛杂). However, due to I had to extend my stay 1 more day in China, leading me had to stayed in Hong Kong on Saturday instead of Friday, which unfortunately is also the Dragon Boat festival, which not only leading to most of the food I am going to eat is closed (Yes, including the Temple’s street Cow’s Intestine Stew! Damned!!!!), I also had to pay RM6xx for my room instead of RM4xx!!!!

Argghhhh!!!

Anyway, back from ranting, instead of staying in Casa Hotel at Yau Ma Tei, I stayed in Kings de Nathan Hotel instead since Casa Hotel is full on that day.

Since on that day itself is the  Dragon Boat festival, we checked out from our hotel at Shenzhen as early as possible, reaching Luohu border at around 7.30am to avoid the crowd. Luckily, it’s still early and passing the immigration is smooth and fast.

We arrived at Kings de Nathan hotel at around 9AM ++, which is just a 2 minute walk from the Yau Ma Tei MTR station.

The hotel entrance is small, same goes to the lobby. Also, we were told to pay a HKD500 for deposit in CASH. Yes, they don’t accept credit card for deposit, seriously wtfisthisshit? Since I am only in Hong Kong for 1 day, I don’t have much HKD on me, end up I just give them USD100 for deposit instead. Sigh.

Since it’s so early, obviously we can’t check in yet, so we just left our luggage and walk around.

We were back at 1PM ++ and were told that we were given an upgrade room, which consist of a Queen Size bed and a single bed. Well, I doubt it matter much since the room is still small in size.

The bed ain’t that comfortable too.

Pengker Deluxe Collection Hotel @ Shenzhen, China

Although I been to Hong Kong for quite some time, but I never been to Shenzhen before. I only have 1/2 day this time at Shenzhen, as I will be leaving to Hong Kong early the next day, hence I ask my supplier to helped me to book a hotel near to the Luohu Border Crossing.

Pengker Deluxe Collection Hotel does look classy outside, and although the lobby is kinda small, but I kinda like the purplish design of it.

Check in was kinda slow, but it was a WOW when I enter the room as the bed is HUGE. It was 2 queen size bed combine together, which can really fit 4 person to sleep on it comfortably.

The carpet is thick too and nice to step on.

Although there are complimentary free broadband in the room, but there are no complimentary bottled water.

Hua Yi Min Fu Hotel @ Zhuhai, China

I had been to Zhuhai few times, and almost every time I stayed in the same hotel, which is Hua Yi Mun Fu hotel (华羽民富酒店) at Gongbei.

Although the hotel is only rated 3 star, but in my opinion it beats most 4 star hotel in Malaysia. The standard of star rating in each country really differs a lot.

20120617 2012.06.17 Hua Yi Min Fu Hotel @ Zhuhai

It’s a nice clean hotel, and the television have like more than 40 channels in it.

There’s also a convenience store located just beside the hotel which you can literally buy most of the necessities there including snacks, beer and my favourite chinese white wine. All of them are reasonably priced.

The toilet is quite large too with separate shower room. Although they do provide free toiletries, but they do have few packs of toiletries for sale at the bathroom if you wish to purchase it. The cheapest one is only RMB6, which is like RM3?

Also, unlike most hotels in Malaysia when they charge you RM8 or even more for a can of coke for the mini bar, most hotel’s mini bar snacks/drinks are reasonably priced, maybe like RMB1 more expansive than you bought at convenience store. I really wonder, why must hotels in Malaysia charged so much for a can of coke, or kit kat? Damned.

Paramount Palace Hotel @ Dannok, Thailand

As many had know, Dannok is located right over the immigration counter of Thailand.

Although it’s located so near to Malaysia, but the town here is really very different to Malaysia, and most importantly, they served great food here!

Paramount Palace Hotel is just less than 5 minutes walking from the immigration counter. A new hotel I was told, and the hotel does look good from the outlook.

The room, however, is a real basic one.

The air corn however, no remote control in the room and hence you can’t adjust the temperature.

When I ask the front desk where’s the remote control, I was told it was set to auto, and if the air-conditioner was not cool, I can called to complaint. But, what’s if it’s too cold? Guess that’s why they have a fan in the room. =.=’

Malibest Resort @ Langkawi

Initially, I planned to have a 4 days 3 nights stay in Langkawi, then when planning my itinerary I find that time is not enough, hence I extend 1 more day.

BUT, after spending 4 nights in Langkawi, especially after the Pulau Payar trip (which I did not blog about it), I find that I am kinda exhausted. I want a day where I can do nothing on the beach and have a good rest. Hence, I decided to extend 1 more night, which in the end, I spend 6 days 5 nights in Langkawi!

Although Four Points by Sheraton had a great room and pool, but I decided to spend my last night at some hotel in Pantai Cenang.

After some quick research, and due to the mother of luck is on my side, I manage to book a Super Deluxe Beach front room at Malibest Resort.

After sending Cow Cow to the airport, I checked in at around 1.30PM at Malibest resort. Since the room is scattered around by the beach, their staff lead us to our room.

While the room is a normal budget resort style….

While the bed is not really that comfortable….

While the sofa is old and dusty….

While it’s only have the old CRT TV in the room….

While the remote control of the TV is not working….

While most of the furniture in the room is kinda old….

Four Points by Sheraton @ Langkawi

After lunch and top up my alcohol stock at a nearby duty free shop, we head straight to Four Points by Sheraton to check in.

The hotel dos look promising from outside.

However, the spacious and empty lobby does look depressing. We arrived at 2.30PM and was told that our room was not yet ready. Well, okay, I might as well take some pictures around first.

In less than 10 minutes, the room is ready….yay!

Hotel Asia @ Langkawi

Continue from Day 1 – Bird Paradise & Wildlife Park @ Langkawi

It was almost 6PM already when we checked in at Hotel Asia located at Kuah town. Both I and LY are really tired as we both waked up very early, and the tiring climb to Seven Wells.

Hotel Asia is a small but very new hotel located in the main town of Langkawi. It’s very easy to locate as it’s just by the road.

Since it’s just a simple budget hotel, the lobby is small and simply. Check in is fast too and we were given a room at the ground floor. Oh ya, RM50 is given too for key deposit.

20120407 2012.04.06 Hotel Asia @ Langkawi-5

While the room is small, the room is very clean which suits it’s purpose. The bed is not so comfortable, but good enough for us since we are only staying here for 1 night.

20120407 2012.04.06 Hotel Asia @ Langkawi-3

The toilet is clean and new too. I hated it at first sight because it’s not divided. I hated to do big business with a wet floor.

However, I instantly fall in love with this toilet once I shower in it. Man, the shower is really really powerful, the most powerful one for any hotel that I stayed in my life. It’s really such a joy to bath when you are so tired and smelly with sweat.
