Jalan Sungai Pinang is a street full with car’s showroom. Here, you can find Cheverlot, Volvo, Honda, Mazda, Proton and a few more.
I rarely pass by this street in the morning, unless I am bringing my car for service, and every time I pass by this street, I will be curious, what is so famous here that it’s so crowded?
Choices are not exactly that much, well since it’s just a few hawker store, I opt for the Herbal Duck Mee Shua @ RM5, and mang, it’s amazing.
I usually won’t order herbal duck noodle as my choice of food, as to me, most of the soup is basically tasteless, and only the duck itself is nice. But, this, the soup is absolutely rich in flavor, and the mee shua texture is superb too! I basically bottoms up the whole bowl of soup! 8.4/10

Already falling in love with Soul Kitchen after I had my breakfast there, here am I again. This time, for lunch.
For starter, we have Tomato Soup @ RM8 served with organic bread. The soup is quite good but I do hope it’s cooked much more thicker. 6.4/10
Our freshly baked Pizza Parma Ham @ RM20, which is the thin crust style pizza which I like. However, it’s not really rich in flavour and I would very much appreciate if more cheese were used 😀
Besides, as I am not a huge fan of the salty Parma Ham and the bitter rocket, I don’t enjoy it much. 6.0/10

Located at Lebuh Muntri @ Penang, Soul Kitchen is a very unique and special place to dine here in Penang. Why so?
Well, first of all, it’s a small family business, operate by the couple Michele and Tonio. The building is already quite a history itself and is part of the heritage pre-war building.
Besides, rather than serving the traditional local Chinese/Malay/Indian hawker food you can find all around in Penang, it served Italian food instead.
My beautiful Cappuccino @ RM5.
And LY’s freshly squeeze and flavourful Orange Juice @ RM5. Price might a bit steep you might say as we are not dining in a air-conditioned restaurant, but the orange juice is pure and good, unlike those you get in normal coffee shop where you taste water and sugar syrup more rather than orange.

We Malaysians usually have heavy breakfast compare to most other countries, Nasi Lemak, Curry Mee, Char Koay Teow oh gosh….so sinful. Hence here I present something, healthy for breakfast! Porridge!!!
The full glory of warm oyster porridge, with toppings such as braised pork, spring onions, deep fried shallots and the uncommon use of eel flakes.
Side orders such as yao char kaoy is available too.

Fine dining (or something closed to, whatever your definition on fine dining is) are rare to come about in Penang, it’s even rarer if it’s Chinese cuisine. Come to think of it, I don’t think I had ever indulge in a fine dining restaurant that serves Chinese food. Does Ah Yatt Abalone Restaurant counts?
Hence, I am so damned excited when I learned about Chin’s Stylist Chinese Cuisine is about to open at Tanjong City Marina in Penang.
The ambiance here is amazing, loads of stylish artwork, superbly beautiful hand painted dining plates which you can buy, whole list of red and white wine to pair with your dinner. You will truly experience a casual and elegant dining here, and with the great hospitality from Sam Chin, it just make dining here great!
By saving all the fuss on what to order, Chin’s Stylish Chinese Cuisine offer several set menu for their customers, price ranging from RM78++ to RM218++ per person. The RM78++ and RM88++ set requires 2 person minimum, while the more expansive set requires at least 4 or more.
After reading through the menu, I decided to give the RM88++ set a go.

It’s been some time since I last post about something eh? I been really lazy…..er…I mean busy. There are tons of pictures hiding inside my harddisk, and I think it’s time to show them to the world.
The first of the many more is beef noodle from Penang at Kang Beef House.
Although they do serve other beef cooked dishes such as fried rice, hor fun and steamboat, but it’s only available during dinner time.
Hence my RM15 beef koay teow is here.
The ingredients variety is good, tenderloin, brisket, beef tripe, beef tendon and meat balls. Although all the ingredients taste, but I still find that the soup itself is lacking of the oomph taste. Yes, it’s better than most beef noodle out there due to it’s variety of ingredients, but it’s far from the best. Maybe is because the sifu’s are not here yet for lunch time? Or the soup will taste better in dinner time after cooking for a longer period? I don’t know. 6.5/10

Eh….what’s this? Why so many people sitting in this small back lane?
Got people squatting down and put in some bread into a stove looking thing somemore?
