Penang Road Teochew Cendol @ Prangin Mall

Although cendol is usually refer to the green colored noodle look-a-like thingy, but it’s not the main ingredients that made a bowl of cendol stand out from the others (well, at least to me la). It’s all due to the santan (coconut milk) and gula melaka (palm sugar) used. Besides, finely shaved ice and big sweet red beans also lead to a good bowl of cendol.

Due to the crowd and mess at their main branch at Penang road, I decided to give their branch inside Prangin Mall a try for my crave of cendol this time.

This is my first time trying at their branch, and I shall say I am quite happy with it. I don’t notice any difference here compare to their main branch, hence I find that in the future, I will just come here instead, where I no need to queue up under the hot sun, stand and eat under the hot sun, and worry my ass being knock my passing by car. I is can sit down and enjoy my desert. 8.0/10

Weld Quay Ai Yu Bing @ Penang

Ai yu bing, or Aiyu Jelly (愛玉冰) is a type of jelly made from a type of fruit origin from Taiwan. The fruit is usually put under the hot sun until it was dried up. It was then rubbed until it become jelly form and become Aiyu Jelly. The jelly was then mix with ice and lemon to become the well known Ai Yu Bing.

Since Ai Yu Bing is very refreshing, and with lemon in it, having a bowl of Ai Yu Bing in an extremely hot day is really great!

Hock Seng Rojak @ Penang

Hock Seng Rojak, the self proclaimed Rojak King. The small white board under their signboard, they also boast that their Rojak is world no.1 taste! However, how many times had we seen that restaurants and stall claimed that they are the best but utterly failed in the end? This is not the case for Hock Seng Rojak.

Their Rojak is really really good. The prawn sauce is extremely thick. Besides, they add in not only peanuts but dried shrimps too, which make the rojak taste even better! However, I find it a bit too spicy when I ate it the 1st time, but slowly it become OK. 8.0/10

Green House Hokkien Mee @ Penang

Green house Hokkien Mee, located at Burmah road, was regarded as one of the best Hokkien Mee by many Penangties. One of the specialty here is you can opt for many extra ingredients such as “pai kuat“, roasted pork and many others, which makes the Hokkien Mee more yuummy.

Not only the coffee shop was named Green House, but the Hokkien Mee stall is also in bright green color. However, to me, this bowl of Hokkien Mee is really so so only, really nothing to shout about despite it’s fame. However, can’t deny that the roasted pork here is good. 6.0/10

Joez Coconut Jelly @ Penang

Coconut jelly is already something quite special and rare, but Joez coconut serve something even more special as the jelly is inside the coconut itself!

I will pick this over any other normal coconut stall that sell fresh coconut water as it was served cold. Besides, this type of coconut is usually sweeter than those big green coconut, hence it make this coconut jelly way more refreshing than the normal one.

Funny Mountain Tau Fu Fa @ Ipoh

I really wanted to kick myself as hard as I can when I first try the Tau Fu Fa (Soyabean curd) here at Funny Mountain. Reason is because the Tau Fu Fa here is so dammed good, as in godly good but I only know it not long ago, while I been patronizing Ong Kee and Lou Wong which is just few steps away from it for years.

Yes, a few people do tell me before that the Tau Fu Fa here is good, and yes every time I walk pass I do so people queuing up, but I never bother to try, because I am always thinking, duh, just a Tau Fu Fa la, how good can it be, until the day I try it, I really really regretted for not trying it earlier!
